Fuel pumps raided

KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Police Crime Division on Sunday carried out surprise raids on three petrol pumps in the capital and arrested their owners and employees for allegedly dispensing less fuel than what consumers pay for. The cops raided Balaju-based Crystal Oil, Swyambu-based Bagalamukhi Petrol Pump and Satungal-based BM Petrol Pump based on a complaint lodged by consumers, said MPCD chief SSP Sarvendra Khanal. They were found to have dispensed around 10 per cent less fuel than what the consumers had paid for. SSP Khanal said action would be taken against the petrol pump owners.
