1st AISC meeting under new govt
KATHMANDU: A meeting of Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) extended its tenure for six months. The meeting chaired by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was held in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
According to Jaya Prakash Gupta, a member representing the committee from the Nepali Congress, said that there was no specific agenda for the meeting as it was the first meeting after the fall of the Maoist-led government. The next meeting has been scheduled for September 6.
The AISC is responsible for the future of 19,602 Maoist combatants residing in 28 different cantonments of the country under the supervision of United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN).
