2 held for seal and signature forgery

KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in a government seal and signature forgery racket, from Teku of Kathmandu on Friday.

Sandip Dahal (26), a permanent resident of Damak-15 and Ishwor Bhattarai (43) from Judopani-5 of Jhapa district, currently residing in Kathmandu, were arrested.

They have been accused of collecting money from different people assuring them of security guard job opportunities in Dubai and providing them with fake documents with forged government seal and signatures.

Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from the Division also confiscated a fake document from Dahal which stated that he had worked as a private at the Nepal Army.

Bhattarai had provided Dahal with the fake papers, according to police.

The duo have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation.
