2 held with fake currency

Kathmandu, January 6

The Kathmandu district court has given permission to the Kathmandu district police office, Hanumandhoka, to take two Indian nationals, who were arrested with fake Nepali currency, into custody for five days in order to file a case against them.

According to the Superintendent of Police Ganesh KC, Gur Charan Singh, 48, and Kamal Jit Singh, 35, were arrested with a sum of Rs 15,000 from the Tara Casino at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Sunday.

The currency notes were of Rs 1,000 dominations.

The police have launched an investigation based on a clue that fake notes are being printed in the Valley.
