KATHMANDU: A day after the government announced a comprehensive security package for the Das-hain, a series of burglaries had left the Valley denizens panicky. On a broad day light robbery that occurred on Friday in Chabahil, a group of bandits, looted properties in cash and kind amounting to Rs 2,75,000 from the house of Shyam Prajapati.The looters broke into Prajapati’s house by unlocking the

main entrance gate and took away cash and jewelleries.

Likewise, Geeta Tamang of Dhapasi, today registered a theft case at the local police station, in

which she claimed that bandits entered her house in wee hours and made away with cash worth 65,000. Tamang said the robbers sprayed chemicals in the house and left the inmates unconscious, before fleeing with the cash. The robbers are absconding. But the police investigating the case said, an investigation was underway.
