BHAKTAPUR: Two newborns were found dead in different parts of Bhaktapur on Monday and Tuesday.

Stray dogs were devouring the body of a newborn when it was discovered at an alley in Anantalingeshwor Municipality of Balkot Bhaktapur this morning, police said.

Sub Inspector Yubraj Sharma said that limbs of the child had bite wounds and the body might have been thrown at around 4 am.

The body has been sent to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, he added.

Likewise, the body of another newborn was found in a decomposed state at Byasi in Bhaktapur Municipality on Monday, inspector Dinesh Bhandari said.

Both the infants were born out of illegitimate relationship and thrown after murdering them in an attempt to cover up the incidents, police said.
