KATHMANDU:  A two-year old child died on the spot after being hit by a bus in Dakshinkali Municipality-9 of Kathmandu district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rijan Balami, son of local Raju Balami.

According to the Pharping Police, the incident occurred when the bus (Ba 2 Kha 9802) hit Rijan while walking alongside the road in Dathuban Lama Village at 9:00 am today.

The bus driver who had fled the scene after the accident was later arrested by police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
