KATHMANDU: Leaders of 22 parties representing in the Constituent Assembly on Tuesday met chairman of the CA Subash Nembang at the latter's office in Singh Durbar.

The leaders urged the CA chairman to resume the regular business of the Legislature-Parliament at the earliest. The leaders also suggested that Nemang follow the legal procedures if the UCPN-Maoist refused to let the parliament run its business.

An alliance of 22 parties is all set to elect CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal as next Prime Minister if Maoists allow the lawmakers to vote in the parliament.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the UCPN-Maoist and Nepali Congress failed to reach a consensus on issues including the resumption of regular business in the House.
