24 lakh IC hauled from a Pakistani

KATHMANDU: In one of the biggest heist in years, security force today arrested a Pakistani citizen with 23, 96, 000 Indian currency in Tribhuvan International Airport. Abdul Gafar, who arrived at the airport by Qatar Airways via Qatari city of Doha, was arrested at around 4: 30 pm. "All of the seized notes are bank notes of IRS 500. An investigation into the case is in progress to verify whether the bank notes are counterfeit," informed an official at TIA.

Gafar has been sent to Metropolitan Police Crime Division for further investigation. "He turned red while undergoing computer screening. The computer screened him for three times before he was held. The Indian currency were hidden in a suitcase wrapped with fabric," said the official.
