26 motorcycles lying unclaimed at MTPD
Kathmandu, December 23
As many as 26 motorcycles are lying unclaimed at the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division after many of the owners did not turn up to claim the two-wheelers.
According to MTPD, the bike owners had filed ‘missing complaint’ with it on various dates. Traffic police retrieved the stolen motorcycles from various parts of the country, but some of the complainants are yet to claim the two-wheelers despite being informed about it. The owners of six of the 26 motorcycles recovered by traffic police are not known, MTPD informed.
The concerned owners will be given a certain time to claim the motorcycles or MTPD will send them to the customs office, a traffic police officer warned. Meanwhile, MTPD has recovered 24 other motorcycles stolen from different places of Kathmandu and said they would be handed over to the concerned owners soon after verification of documents.
The motorcycles lifted by racketeers were sold to their clients in rural and peri-urban areas of the country.
