Kathmandu: Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) seized 27 theft vehicles from different parts of the valley in the last 2 months. “These theft vehicles are brought in from India. They were plying on the roads with fake number plates and fake documents,” said DIG Binod Singh, adding that the MTPD had arrested some drivers with the theft vehicles. One of drivers who got arrested with a Santro said that he bought the car for Rs 1.2 million. The market value of the car is Rs 2.8 million. DIG Singh confirmed that police would take hold of suspected vehicles and seize them after investigation. Ram Shrestha (name changed), said that he bought a car as he got it for half the market price. However, he regrets after he got arrested.
