2nd edition of Sagoon.com launched from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Sagoon Group on Sunday launched the second edition of Sagoon.com, a social networking as well as e-commerce site.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli launched the site at a function held in Kathmandu today.

A Nepali man, currently living in the United States, Govinda Giri-led team has developed the site.

Speaking at the function, the Prime Minister informed that the government wished to launch an e-governance service soon.

“We want a modern and developed Nepal,” Oli said, “For this, information technologies should be widely developed and used.”

Extending his best wishes to the Sagoon team, he also expressed his commitment to support the team from the government if needed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa expressed his hope that the new initiative would give a new recognition to Nepal in the world.

Former Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudyal had also spoken at the function.

The site developer Giri had explained about his invention at the event.
