318 new cases of Covid-19 surface in Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley reported as many as 318 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Wednesday.

Of the total 743 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 250 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 34 and 34 infections respectively.

Of those newly infected in the valley, 118 are females while 200 are males.

Currently, there are 3,213 active infections in Kathmandu, 529 in Lalitpur, and 234 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 7,515.

So far, 456 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 98 in Bhaktapur, and 143 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 1,803.

Meanwhile, a total of 91,790 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu while 14,253 have recovered in Lalitpur and 8,389 in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu and Lalitpur are the two districts to have over 500 active cases. Likewise, Mugu is the only district with zero live infections at present.
