KATHMANDU: Traffic police on Monday detained and took action against 40 taxis during checking from various locations of Kathmandu valley.

The taxis were booked for refusing to serve commuters by turning on their fare metres, damaging their metres and not maintaining them.

Metropolitan Traffic Police Division has been regularly monitoring taxis and taking action against those not complying with regulations.
