5 including 2 Indian nationals arrested for fraud

KATHMANDU: Police arrested five persons including two Indian nationals on charge of swindling documents including passports of various nations on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip off, a police team in civvies arrested Narayan Ghimire (34), a permanent resident of Musikot Municipality-1 of Gulmi district, Jhapendra Thapa Magar (36) of Kalika Municipality-13 in Rupandehi district, Arjun Aryal (28) of Chhetradev Municipality in Arghakhanchi district, Sandip Singh (30) of Sahajpur district in Uttar Pradesh, India, and Ronald Gahatraj (37) of Darjeeling, Siligudi in India.

They where arrested in a raid at a hotel in Thamel along with 19 Nepali passport, 25 Bangladeshi passport, 1 Indian Passport, 11 police reports and various other documents.

Gahatraj operated 'Global Consultancy' at Delhi in India with an intent to swindle people under the pretext of offering jobs in various countries.

Likewise, Narayan Ghimire operated 'Nikita Global Consultancy' in Putalisadak, Kathmandu to swindle people under the pretext of offering jobs in India, Canada, Japan and European nations.

According to Foreign Employment Act-2064, the culprits will be charged on the basis of the crime they had committed and will pay the fine of Rs three to five lakhs and serve jail term of three to five years.
