5 persons injured in Valley road accidents

KATHMANDU: Five persons have been injured in three road accidents in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday and Saturday.

One of them is critical, according to police.

A 10-year-old, named Janaki Karki, was hit by a motorbike – of which police are yet to find the registration number - at Shiva Chok in Gokarneshwor Municipality -16, on Friday.

Riding on a bicycle, the girl had sustained injuries in the bike hit and was rushed to the Nepal Medical College in Attarkhel for treatment.

She is well enough to speak, police added.

The bike rider, absconding since the incident, is being searched by police.

In another case, a jeep (Ba 13 cha 6119) collided with a tipper (Ba 1 ka 7886) at Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur along the Araniko Highway in the early morning today.

Three persons - Gyan Shrestha (20), Dirgha Shrestha (26) and Sandeep Mandal (26) were injured when their Kathmandu-bound jeep collided with the tipper.

The injured are being treated at the Madhyapur Hospital, Thimi.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle hit incident has left Kulman Singh Lama (22) seriously injured in front of the Kanti Children's Hospital at 5:30 pm today.

Lama is being treated at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

The bike (Ba 67 Pa 7124) and its rider are in custody of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj.

Further investigations into all cases are underway.
