6 persons including 2 foreigners held with huge cache of controlled drugs

KATHMANDU: The Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police said six persons including two foreigners were arrested, for their alleged involvement in smuggling drugs, from assorted locations in Nepal.

Issuing a press statement today, NCB said Indian national Papu Sah and Norwegian Sandboe Martin (33) have been arrested.

Martin with the Norwegian passport numbered 32754090 was nabbed while undergoing hold baggage X-ray checking at the Tribhuvan International Airport before boarding a Qatar Airways flight to Oslo via Doha.

Police recovered 2 kilogram 850 gram of hashish hidden inside his luggage as a false button, it said in the statement.

The suspect Martin has been sent to Koteshwor-based Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation and action.

Similarly, Police said Indian national Papu Sah who has been smuggling drugs to Nepal has been arrested from Biratnagar.

Likewise, a sleuth deployed from the NCB also arrested Krishna Kumar Yadav and Ram Dayal Yadav of Siraha district, Sunil Kumar Yadav of Saptari district and seized 737 ampules of banned pharmaceutical drugs from their possession.

Milan Rai of Pathari Sanischare in Morang district was arrested from Kirtipur of Kathmandu recently.
