KATHMANDU: A sexagenarian has been arrested on Sunday on the charge of raping a minor girl in Budanilakantha Municipality-4 of Kathmandu.

Police identified the suspect as Ram Bhakta Shrestha (65) of Nuwakot district, currently residing in Nayachok, Budhanilakantha-4.

Shrestha had raped the nine-year-old girl currently living in his neighbourhood on Saturday, claimed police.

Meanwhile, the victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, according to police.

Further investigation into the case is underway, added police.
