7 alleged fuel black marketeers held from Kalanki

KATHMANDU: Police arrested seven people from Kalanki in the Capital on Wednesday morning on the charge of black marketing of petroleum products.

A team from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu also confiscated around 1,900 litres of petrol stored by the arrestees to sell it on the black market.

The arrestees are Kapil Budathoki, Hari Prasad Timilsina, Tanka Prasad Timilsina, Ghana Shyam Risal, Tok Bahadur Pakhrin, Ratna Bahadur Shrestha and Ganga Kumar Shrestha.

The team, acting on a tip-off, raided the house of Budathoki in Kalanki at around 6 am on Wednesday and confiscated around 1,710 liter petrol hidden in a tin-roofed hut belonging to Budathoki and the remaining petrol from a plastic jerrycan hidden in a parked taxi.
