KATHMANDU: A cooperative official who was sought for the embezzlement of Rs140 million has been arrested from the Capital on Friday.

Identified as Janak Prasad Parajuli of Makha VDC, Sindhupalchok district, the suspect was secretary of the Renown Cooperative.

He along with other operators had allegedly embezzled the fortune collected from depositors.

Parajuli was held from Minbhawan of Kathmandu and handed over to the Metropolitan Police Range, according to the Metropolitan Police Crime Division.
