KATHMANDU: A nine-year-old girl died after she fell into a water tank in Tokha-13 of Kathmandu on Saturday.

Amita Giri, the daughter of Achyut Giri, a permanent resident of Chhatredeurali from Dhading district, had fallen into the tank in the compound of an under-construction house in her neighbourhood while she was playing.

The girl was rescued and taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital but died during treatment.
