Health authorities today diagnosed 167 new cases of coronavirus infection in the country, including 89 in Kathmandu valley.
With this, Nepal's COVID caseload has reached 277,147, including 272,727 recoveries, 1,390 active cases, and 3,030 deaths.
Of those testing positive for the contagion in the valley today, 78 are from Kathmandu, seven from Lalitpur, and four from Bhaktapur.
Of the others diagnosed with the disease today, 32 are from Kaski, 22 from Chitwan, three each from Kavrepalanchowk and Rupandehi, two each from Nawalparasi (East), Syangja, Dang, and Doti, and one each from Udayapur, Morang, Dhanusha, Gorkha, Tanahun, Baglung, Palpa, Bardiya, Banke, and Kailali.
The health ministry said 115 COVID patients were discharged from health centres across the country in the past 24 hour. So far, 98.4 per cent of COVID patients have recovered in Nepal.
The ministry added that three COVID patients died in the country today, taking the death toll from the respiratory contagion to 3,030.
