Ad hoc judges' tenure extended

KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council on Tuesday decided to extend tenure of 28 appellate courts’ temporary judges by six months.

These ad hoc judges of appellate courts would have retired on Tuesday if their term had not been extended.

Minister for Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly and Parliamentary Affairs Narahari Acharya, who is also an ex official member of the Judicial Council, said the temporary judges’ tenure had been extended by six months.

Talking to THT, he said Judicial Council would decide later whether to confirm them as permanent judges or not.
