Adjustment of 43,861 civil servants completed

As many as 43, 861 civil servants have been adjusted in three tiers of the government — federal, provincial and local levels — till date.
According to Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, 77,000 out of 89,000 civil servants had applied for adjustment through the online application system of the ministry.
Talking to The Himalayan Times, MoFAGA Spokesperson Suresh Kumar Adhikari said the ministry had adjusted 30,546 employees in central government, 6,010 employees in the provincial governments, and 7,194 employees in the local governments. Out of them, 101 employees have been kept in the reserve pool.
Adhikari said the ministry had completed adjustment of civil servants who were in the administrative service.
He said that they were yet to start adjustment 25,000 civil servants in the healthservice sector. Adjustment of employees in the agriculture and forestry services has yet to conclude.
As per Adhikari, 57 secretaries have been adjusted in the federal government. While 575 out of 676 joint secretaries have been adjusted in the federal level and 102 joint secretaries in provincial level.
Among the 2,046 under secretaries, 1,571 have been adjusted in the federal government, 237 in the provinces and 238 in the local levels.
Similarly, adjustment of 4,313 section officers (gazetted third class) have been completed in the federal government, while 1,038 and 719 officers have been sent to provincial and local levels respectively, Adhikari said.
Among the 11,994 non-gazetted first class officers (NayabSubba), 6,082 were adjusted in the centre, 2,520 in the provincial and 2,652 in the local levels, he said.
Out of 4,488 non-gazetted second class officers (Kharidar) 3,824 were adjusted in the federal government, 645 in the provincial level and 1,419 in the local levels.
Out of 12,634 classless employees, including sweepers, drivers and others, 9,003 were adjusted in the centre, 1,468 in provinces and 2,163 in local levels.
Adjustment process, however, excludes around 4,405 government employees working for foreign, legal and parliamentary services. As per the government data, there are 276 civil servants in the Foreign Service, while 3,605 and 257 are in the legal and parliamentary services.
Adhikari further informed that the ministry was trying to get all the data of health service from the Department of Civil Personal Records.
He said some errors made in the adjustment process will be addressed by the panel led by minister of federal affairs and general administration.
The panel includes chief secretary, secretary at the MoFAGA and secretary at Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as its members.
As per the Organisation and Management Survey conducted by the government, the centre has positions for 48,409 civil servants while the seven provinces need 21,399 and
local levels 66,750 government staffers.
Though, the government has already come up with Civil Servant Adjustment Act, it is likely to take few more days to complete the task of employee adjustment.
The deadline set by the ministry has already expired. “But we are trying to complete the task as soon as possible,” Adhikari said.
