‘Maoists lost opportunity’

KATHMANDU: Ishwor Pokhrel, general secretary, CPN-UML, has ruled out the possibility of the Unified CPN-Maoist forming a new government under its leadership.

Speaking at an interaction, organised by the Reporters Club Nepal, Pokhrel claimed that the Maoists could not lead the government on moral and political grounds.

“As the largest party in the parliament, it had failed to lead the government when it had got the opportunity,” he said. He urged the Maoists to join the government, claiming that the present coalition was the national consensus government.
