Kathmandu, June 12 :

Armed Police Force (APF) personnel yesterday arrested Tika Ram Tamang, the alleged ‘murderer’ of Srijana Tamang, his 19-year-old lover, from the Sundhara-based Sony Lodge.

Tika Ram Tamang was later handed over to the Kathmandu District Police Office today.

According to police, Tamang had killed Srijana on June 8. Tamang, who had gone to Narayangadh to evade arrest, came to the capital only on Sunday, police said.

He is learnt to have called Keshav Adhikari, Superintendent of Police at the Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, on Sunday evening and said he would come to the police office to surrender, police sources said.

A police official quoted Tamang as admitting that he murdered Srijana as he came to know about her affair with another man and could not bear with the news.
