‘Lingual Black Day’ today

Kathmandu: The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) in association with various bodies of the indigenous nationalities on Monday announced twoday protest programmes from Tuesday to mark the ‘Lingual Black Day’ on Wednesday. Various bodies of the indigenous nationalities have been marking Jestha 18 as the Lingual Black Day since 1999 in protest against a Supreme Court verdict ruling out the use of local languages for official communication. — HNS
