Agreement on Israeli employment protocol to be signed today

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 20

Implementation Protocol is to be signed between Nepal and Israel tomorrow for the implementation of ‘Agreement related to temporary employment of Nepali workers in the labour market of Israel’ signed on September 30.

Director General at Department of Foreign Employment, Kumar Dahal, on behalf of the government of Nepal and Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Godar, on the behalf of government of Israel, are scheduled to sign the protocol, according to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.

With the signing of the protocol, the Israeli labour market will be opened for Nepali youths where 500 Nepali youths will go for employment. Nepali youths will get employment as caregivers as well as in the agro, hotel, restaurant and construction sectors.

They will get service and facilities as per Israeli law, according to Secretary at the ministry, Toyam Raya.

The Nepali youths will go for employment through government to government channel of both countries. There are around 2,500 Nepalis in Israel, according to the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Nepali Ambassador to Israel, Anjana Shakya and Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Gabi Ashkenazi signed the labour pact.
