Kathmandu, July 6:

The government and the World Food Programme (WFP) signed a letter of understanding today for Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheetal Niwas. As per the understanding, WFP will grant food estimated at $7,599,440 to the government for the maintenance of Bhutanese refugees residing in seven camps in Jhapa and Morang for the period of one year starting from July 1. Foreign secretary Madhu Raman Acharya and WFP representative to Nepal Erika Joergensen signed the letter of understanding.
