Kathmandu, August 29
The CPN-Maoist Centre has urged leaders and cadres of its student wing — All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary — not to engage in disputes over the union’s leadership.
Issuing a statement today, CPN-MC Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal requested student leaders to participate in the ANNISU-R election.
Bhusal said all student leaders and cadres were equal in the eyes of the party.
CPN-MC Secretariat has appointed Hitman Shakya as in-charge and Ramesh Malla as coordinator of the election mobilisation committee. The ANNISU-R election process began today.
Election mobilisation committee coordinator Malla said if students failed to select new leadership on the basis of consensus, voting would be held for the same. Ranjit Tamang, Madan Aryal and Anil Sharma have filed their candidacies for the post of ANNISU-R president.
