Amber Gurung's health condition improving

KATHMANDU: Veteran musician Amber Gurung's health condition has slightly improved, Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported.

The composer of Nepal's national anthem was rushed to the Dhapasi-based Grande International Hospital on Monday after he witnessed problems in his food pipe due to its obstruction.

According to Amber Gurung's son Raju, the veteran musician's food pipe (oesophagus) was blocked due to deposition of food particles on the stent that was put into it earlier.

It has been learned that the 78-year-old will be kept at the hospital for some days for the treatment.

Gurung, who suffers from Parkinson's disease also, had undergone treatment for oesophagal tumour in Gurgaon-based Medanta Hospital some months ago.

He returned home in the last week of March.
