Ang Tshiring Sherpa remembered
Kathmandu, February 27
A blood donation programme was organised on the premises of Yeti Airlines’ corporate office today to commemorate the first death anniversary of late Ang Tshiring Sherpa, founding managing director of Yeti Group.
The programme was held with the support of Nepal Red Cross Society, Lalitpur branch. Sherpa was one of the pioneers in Nepal’s civil aviation and tourism industry.
He passed away last year in a helicopter accident in Taplejung, along with Rabindra Adhikari, minister of culture, tourism and civil aviation and other colleagues on board.
One-minute silence was observed in honour of Sherpa prior to the commencement of the donation programme.
A total of 179 donors, including Chairman of Yeti Group Sonam Sherpa, Yeti Group staffers and Sherpa’s family participated in the programme.
