ANNFSU cadres thrash ANNISU-R activist

Kathmandu, February 26:

A cadre of the All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary sustained injuries after students affiliated to the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union beat him up this morning following an altercation at Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus.

ANNFSU cadres thrashed ANNISU-R cadre Buddhi Sagar Tripathi after a debate ensued over alleged irregularities during the construction of a garden at the campus six months ago. The fight broke out when the Harihar Karki and Madhav Khanal of ANNFSU accused ANNISU-R students of graft while constructing the garden. A verbal fight turned violent.

Triphati said, “Everyone has the right to express their ideas, but ANNFSU students used force to suppress my belief.” He also demanded that the duo be punished.

“If the ANNFSU fails to take action, we will punish him,” he added. He said the attack on him was pre-planned. Vice-president of the Free Student Union of the college, Surendra Basnet, said that the conflict should be solved through dialogue. KP Khanal, chairman of campus unit of ANNISU-R, said, “The FSU must punish the guilty.”
