Another hunger strike if govt fails to honour recent agreement: Dr KC

KATHMANDU: Senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC today said he would announce fresh hunger-strike if the government does not honour the recent agreement reached with him at the end of his last strike.

Dr KC's last fast-unto-death, his fifteenth, ended on July 26 after 27 days.

Issuing a statement dated September 28, the medical activist has expressed his disappointment over the current session of Parliament ending without deliberation on the Medical Education Act.

Dr KC has said that he would be compelled to announce his sixteenth fast-unto-death should the government fail to immediately implement the agreement reached with him at the end of the last strike.
