KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 5

Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashok Raj Sigdel left for the United Kingdom on Monday for an official visit at the invitation of British Army Chief of the General Staff Gen Sir Roly Walker.

Sigdel will remain in the UK from October 5 to 11, according to the Nepal Army.

The Army said the visit is expected to strengthen the longstanding military ties between Nepal and the UK and contribute to Nepal's foreign policy through military diplomacy.

Before his departure from Tribhuvan International Airport, Sigdel was seen off by Lt Gen Pradip Jung KC, who will assume the duties of acting chief of the army staff during Sigdel's absence.
