Astronomy meet begins
Kathmandu, January 3:
A four-day-long workshop on astronomy and astrophysics began here today at the initiative of the B P Koirala Memorial Planetarium and Observatory and Science Museum Development Committee.
Assistant Minister for Environment, Science and Technology Pratap Ram Lohar inaugurated the workshop. The minister said the ministry is preparing to establish a planetarium to study heavenly bodies.
Member of the National Planning Commission Dr Rajendra Suwal said, “The NPC is ready to help promote such activities in whatever way it can,” he said.
The executive director of the Committee, Shreeharsha Koirala, said the committee could not work as expected due to resource constraints.
