Bagmati clean-up campaigners dig out body from Thapathali
KATHMANDU: Body of an unidentified person was found in course of the weekly Bagmati Clean-up Campaign today.
In course of the cleaning on the 163rd week today, the body of a man who appeared to be in his mid-30s was found inside a sack near Thapathali Kupandol area of the Bagmati river bank, according to Executive Director of the High-powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee Rajesh Prasad Singh.
The body was handed over to police for necessary action.
Meanwhile, seven metric ton solid waste was collected from the river during the clean-up today.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force personnel, the Committee members, staff of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and members of the general public took part in the cleaning of the sacred river and its banks today.
