While in Nepal, Bangladesh President Hamid will also be visiting the Lake City Pokhara and historical, archaeological and cultural sites in Kathmandu valley.

When asked what agenda will be discussed during President Hamid’s visit, Assistant Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Suresh Adhikari said that the two sides were still trying to finalise agenda to be discussed, but as this was a high-level visit, it was natural for the two sides to discuss all issues of mutual interests.

Bangladeshi news portal www.thedailystar.net had recently reported that Bangladesh and Nepal would hold talks on Preferential Trade Agreement and BBIN (Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal) Motor Vehicles Agreement during President Hamid’s Nepal visit.

Another Bangladesh news portal www.dhakatribune.com had reported recently that on the sidelines of the 18th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Azerbaijan on October 26, Bangladesh Prime Minister Seikh Hasina had

requested Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to finalise the PTA with Nepal during President Hamid’s upcoming visit to Nepal.

Both the news portals had stated that PM Oli and Hasina had reached agreement to make the BBIN agreement functional.
