Bank forgery convict lands in police net
KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested a man, who was absconding after being convicted in a bank fraud case.
A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police nabbed Bhai Krishna Khadka (45), a permanent resident of the then Gagalphedi VDC-5 in Kathmandu, from Tilganga of the Capital today.
The Patan Appellate Court on May 12, 2014 had slapped him with a three-year jail term and Rs 35 million fine.
One of the promoters of the Sandarbhik Builders Pvt Ltd, Khadka had taken a loan of Rs 35 million from the Capital Merchant Banking and Finance and caused a loss to the company by misusing the money, according to police.
Meanwhile, police presented him before the Kathmandu District Court for execution of the sentence and the Court sent him to the Central Jail in Jagannath Dewal, Kathmandu.
Police have already nabbed three persons in connection to the case and they are doing their time in different jails in Kathmandu.
