BHAGWAN MAHAVIR

Speaker Taranath Ranabhat has said that contributions could be made for creation of a virtuous and peaceful society by following the philosophy of life propounded by Bhagwan Mahavir. Addressing a function organised to mark the 2600th birthday anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir here on Tuesday, Ranabhat said that development of the country is possible only through love and peace.

The Speaker wished that the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir will inspire the people involved in killing and terrorist activities to move along the path of peace and prosperity.

Minister for physical planning and works Chiranjibi Wagle said that ideals of Bhagwan Mahavir have been inspiring mankind to search for peace. We should always contemplate on developing a violence-free and just society, he added. Minister Wagle also released the souvenir of Bhagwan Mahavir published by the national organising committee of Bhagwan Mahavir 2600th birthday anniversary and welfare festival.

Minister of state for education and sports N P Saud said that Bhagwan Mahavir has always been known as a promoter of peace and friendship.

Member of the Rrajparishad standing committee Dr Swami Prapannacharya, Santa Bal Bramhachari Atmanandaji, president of the national organising committee Hulas Chandra Golchha, Bramhakumari Rajdidi, convenor of the souvenir publishing sub-committee Hemraj Gyawali and others threw light on the life and philosophy of Bhagwan Mahavir.
