Bid to foil CA polls on, say Maoists

Bhaktapur, March 25:

Maoist leaders and members of the interim parliament have said that reactionary and regressive elements are conspiring to foil the constituent assembly polls and prevent the Maoists from joining the interim government.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the first district conference of the All Nepal Women’s Union (Revolutionary), Bhaktapur, they warned of disaster in the country if the CA polls were not held as per schedule.

Inaugurating the conference, central general secretary of the All Nepal Women’s Union and MP Amrita Thapa pointed out the need for putting an end to monarchy and setting up a democratic republican system. “The government should give a new direction to the country by immediately forming an interim government,” she said while warning that the regressive elements were hatching a conspiracy to foil the CA polls.

MP and central vice chairman of the union, Devi Khadka, said that all should move ahead unitedly for conducting CA polls.

Another woman legislator Narayan Devi Shrestha called on all to come together in the interest of people and establish a democratic republican state.
