President Bhandari calls to increase investment in education

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the government should invest a significant amount of budget in the education sector to meet the demand for quality education and recover damages of physical infrastructures by the 2015 earthquake.

At a programme organised here today on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the Baneshwor Multiple Campus, President Bhandari said that community colleges have to move ahead by facing new challenges of the sector.

The government and bodies concerned should also pay attention to help the community colleges face the difficulties and challenges, she added.

"It is the challenge of the hour to make the education sector free and accessible by ending all problems facing this sector."

President Bhandari also said that the role of students would be crucial in speedy development and social transformation as the students could be policy makers of future and property of the nation.

Similarly, Minister for Education, Dhaniram Paudel, said that the community campuses had joined hands with the government on the responsibility of making education accessible to all.
