Big III fail to convince Gachhadar to rejoin Constituent Assembly
KATHMANDU: Three major political parties on Friday failed to woo Bijay Kumar Gachhadar-led Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic to rejoin the Constituent Assembly.
Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist had held a meeting with MJF-D with a view to convince the latter to sign on the new constitution, but failed.
Ram Janam Chaudhary, MJF-D General Secretary, informed after the meeting that the talks failed as the NC, UML and UCPN-Maoist were not ready to include the term ‘Tarai-Madhes’ in the agreement to be signed with the agitating parties.
The party, hence, now would go to protests and would not return to the CA until the demands were addressed, Chaudhary added.
Top leaders of all four parties were present at the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
