KATHMANDU: A person died after a motorcycle hit him in front of a battery factory near Banasthali along the ring road in KMC on Wednesday night, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Prem Bahadur Gurung (26) of Puranokot in Lamjung district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 84 Pa 6015) en route from Balaju to Banasthali struck the pedestrian Gurung in front of the battery factory at 11:30 pm yesterday.

The injured Gurung was rushed to the People's Hospital where he breathed his last during the course of treatment at 2:30 am today, informed police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and the search is on for the absconding motorcyclist, said Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju.
