KATHMANDU: A motorcyclist died after being hit by a minitruck in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur Municipality-17 on Sunday.

Anup Shah (17) from Narayansthan of Kathmandu was riding on his two-wheeler (Ba 51 Pa 2079) when the minitruck (Ba 2 Kha 7664) hit him.

The youth had sustained serious injuries in the accident. He succumbed to the wounds while being rushed to the Bhaktapur Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the pillion rider Rabina Budhathoki (19) from Balaju of Kathmandu sustained injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at the Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital.

Police have impounded the truck and arrested its driver for further investigation.
