Biplab-CPN (Maoist) condemns spokesperson's arrest

KATHMANDU: Issuing a statement today, the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN (Maoist) has announced a slew of protest programmes while condemning the arrest of its cadres including spokesperson Khadga Bahadur BK (Prakanda).

"We strongly condemn the arrests which are against the political norms," the party said, "We demand our arrested cadres including Prakanda to be released immediately without conditions."

Terming the arrests as a fascist suppression, the party has warned that the government would be accountable for circumstances developing out of it.

"Our party calls out all the patriots and true democrats to join us in this stern protest against the government's attitude," the statement reads.

Likewise, in the statement, the party has announced protest programmes including demonstrations and strike on August 10 and 14 respectively.
