Lalitpur, May 7:

Birds in Nepal, a comprehensive book on species of birds found in Nepal, was released by R K Shrestha, director of Central Zoo today. The book is the first of its kind in the country, which has gathered maximum information on the varieties of birds found in Nepal, according to the publishers of the book. The book was originally written by Richard Grimmett, Carol Inskipp and Tim Inskipp and published in 2001.

The book was translated by Dr Hem Sagar Baral in Nepali so that maximum number of people could benefit from this book. "The book will be distributed free of cost to various schools, colleges and libraries within the Valley in order to provide information on the birds of Nepal," said Hari Chandra Rai, the programme organiser.
