Kathmandu, July 3:
The members of the International Nepal Solidarity Network (INSN) on Saturday denounced the government’s arbitrary blocking of the web sites — INSN.org and Samudaya.org — from being accessed in Nepal. In a statement, it has demanded that the government restore access to the web sites in the interest of Press freedom and the freedom of expression. It has termed the blocking of the web sites as “a censorship by an authoritarian regime that has proven to be hostile to the free and independent reporting”. It said: “INSN.org is an independent media outlet intended to foster dialogue and expand the space for democratic peace as an alternative to the armed conflict in Nepal. The web site aims to be an educational
resource and a public forum, providing relevant documents and information in a responsible manner.”
