Blood donors lauded

Kathmandu, September 10:

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Buddhi Raj Bajracharya today stressed that every person should engage in social work by donating blood as it can save hunderds of lives.

Inaugurating the ninth General Assembly and fifth convention of Blood Donors Association, Bajracharya said blood sho-uld be donated and saved. Kedar Karanjit, a life time member of Blood Transfusion Center who was felicitated for his contribution in creating awareness about the blood donation and for establishing the blood bank at Bhaktapur said that one packet of blood could save lives four lives. “There are people suffering from diseases like haemophilia, anaemia and thalassemia who will be in need of blood, plasma and platelets through out their life, hence, blood donors play an important role in saving one’s lives.”
