KATHMANDU: British Army Chief General Sir David Julian Richards arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday on a six-day official visit at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Chattra Man Singh Gurung. Richards’ visit follows a visit of Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor on January. General Richards was received at the Tribhuvan International Airport by second-in-command of NA Lieutenant General Toran Jung Bahadur Singh. He is the ninth British Army Chief to pay visit to Nepal. Upon his arrival, he left for Pokhara to attend a British Gurkha function.
